Why Is Methodology Important?

To give a high quality of work and service, your IT support and services partner must use a consistent methodology.  When combined with documentation and record keeping, methodology is key to putting you (the customer) in control. Unfortunately it is our experience that small and medium sized businesses  receive inconsistent service due to a lack of methodology, documentation and record keeping.  The most common issues we identify are:

  • Network documentation is limited or non-existent
  • Configurations are inconsistent, ad-hoc and unrecorded
  • Clients are missing key administrative usernames and passwords
  • System management is reactive rather than proactive and planned

As a result customers all to often suffer the following consequences

  • The network and systems operate poorly or are unreliable
  • Support and management costs escalate over time
  • Increased investment has no clear business benefit
